Blog 5 - Acting on a Recommendation
The book I had been reading in the past month is the book Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX and the Quest for a Fantastic Future by Ashlee Vance. It was recommended to me by Matthew Vasquez a while ago and I thought I would put that recommendation to good use for this unit. It was recommended to me a long time ago when we were still looking for independent reading books to read, but I waited off on it until this unit. I asked my mom to order it for me at the start if April and it arrived about a week later and I began to read. While reading the book I learned about Elon Musk's life and important lessons in life that he used. Starting off with his childhood Elon had a rough time, his brother and him were bullied during their time in South Africa which leads to one of the lessons of life the book provides, which is "Get used to pain and suffering". Although he had troubles during his childhood, Musk was always an opportunist, always finding and seizing opportunities. Which is another lesson, "You create your own opportunities". There are several more lessons but I honestly believe this book is a very good read for anyone who is interested in learning about the story of one of the most popular tech billionaires in the world. I enjoyed it personally and I loved every bit of it.
Overall I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read biographies and learn about people today. This book is a must read for anyone really, it's enjoyable and you can learn a lot from it.
